Robert Everett Weaver of Horsham and recently of Lansdale, died on April 27, 2013. He was 83.
Robert was the oldest son of Robert and Edythe Weaver and the husband of Alexine E. Weaver, all of whom predeceased him. He was previously married to the late Joanne Weaver Stroh.
He is survived by his brother Richard (Joy) of Warrington and his three children Karen (Carol), Mark (Lori), and Laurie (Matt) as well as his three grandchildren Jamieson, Robbie, and Bradley.
Robert grew up in Flourtown and graduated from Springfield High School. For three years, during the Korean War, he served as a U.S. Navy Radioman on the destroyer U.S.S. Lowery. He was a long-time member of the Hatboro Lions Club, assisting that organization with dozens of charitable and community activities. He was also a 60-year Mason.
Robert’s career included jobs as a salesman in several industries. Throughout his life, he spent nearly every summer in Ocean City, New Jersey. He was also an active tennis player, participating in singles and doubles play in Willow Grove, Ocean City, and Naples, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, Robert’s children ask that memorial contributions be made to the Hatboro Lions Club, P.O. Box 471, Hatboro, PA 19040. A memorial service will be held at the Brittany Pointe Estates Retirement Community Auditorium 1001 Valley Forge Road, Lansdale, PA on Saturday May 4, 2013 at 11am. That service will also celebrate the life of Robert’s wife, Alexine who passed away in March.
